When I was at Saks Off 5th, Kat mentioned DVF and I was all over that. I passed up the coveted wrap dress they had in store, and went for this trendier drop-waisted dress in a fabulous (but not over-the-top) giraffe print. DVF has a way of using prints and colors that are universally both flattering and wearable.
I paired it with a pair of my J.Crew Minnies – the dress is perfect for bare legs and wedge sandals, but I was borrowing this dress and couldn’t have it hem lengthened to a more modest length; I also am still walking around with winter-white legs (grimace.) To dress it up, I wore patent black heels. Drop-waists aren’t flattering for everyone, but I can get away with it – mostly because I have no hips (yay?) I paired this outfit with this fun and over-sized Badgley Mischka elongated hobo bag, and a crystal necklace and ring from Evil Pawn Jewelry (love the jewelry, despite the eery tone of the brand name.)
Saturday evening’s show was apparently the show for everyone who wanted to see and be seen. Lots of familiar friendly faces, chic outfits, hugs all around and of course, great collections to be seen. My favorite (and the fave of everyone I ran into) was by far, this look from Lauren Bander:
A second runner-up (do I have to choose just one!?) was _____________. I mean, wedding dresses (ByWhitney, Whitney Rorah); need I say more?
