When I find a short sleeve maxi dress for sale, I am on it like a fat kid on cake. Maybe that is isn’t a very fair comparison. I was a super-skinny kid and I shoveled cake into my mouth at every opportunity; I probably could have gone on to compete in eating contests, my love for food has no end lol!
But seriously, what does a girl have to do to find summer clothes that have sleeves?! I had my eye on this short sleeve maxi dress for a while before swallowing my sale-loving pride and splurging during ShopBop’s friends and family sale last month. The dress is fairly sheer, but I will just use it as another excuse to wear a silk slip; I would live exclusively in silk if it were practical. I love silk slips, but especially this 100% washable slip dress from J.Crew. I have it in every color (oops!)
I was talking to one of my friends the other day and she had just picked up a new belt – she said skinny belts need to go away, but I think they still have their uses (check out a few of these great ideas for tying your belt instead of buckling it!) I have loved this woven belt for so many years – it is one of the few times I am grateful for the enduring power of synthetic materials! Long live fake leather, right? This Madewell cuff has been one of my favorite accessories this season, and I’m so glad I picked it up (for less than $20) early this year. I try to post great finds like that on Instagram, so be sure to follow me there (@_TripleP) for in-the-moment finds of pieces that are versatile, worth the cost-per-wear, or at a great price.
