Rain, Rain, Come Again…..

I am desperate for it to rain.  I think we have gotten a quarter-inch since May, and my lawn shows it.  I have been holding onto this post, saving it for the perfect rainy day….

Trench/Poncho/Cape (Trenchope? Tronchope?): Forever21 (similar here)
Dress: Sugarlips
Boots: JCrew Factory (JCrew online)

But the recent additional 40% off JCrew sale items (use code: OURTREAT, offer good only through tomorrow, July 18 at 11:59pm EST) has me wanting to share my thoughts and opinions on the rainboots.

I actually picked up my pair at the JCrew Factory store at the Legends Outlets Kansas City.  With the additional 40% off their sale items, I paid the same price for the Factory boots as I would if I had bought them at the standard JCrew stores.

Pricing aside, I fell in love with these boots for their fit.  The ankle isn’t too wide and “cankle-y” like most boots are (they are cut that way so people can get their feet in and out, obviously.)  I also love the opening at the top – every other pair of boot I’ve tried is too short, too narrow, or too wide.  These boots mimic tailored leather boots, fitting me look like a glove than a mass-produced rubber boot meant to fit all shapes and sizes (that’s rubber for you.)  I love the look of the Hunter boots, but my larger-than-industry-standard calves don’t fit, and especially not with pants or socks.  So, if you ever find your calves not fitting just so into those cute-on-the-hanger-table rain boots, you should try these rain boots from JCrew.
