Bud Vases

I was helping Julie Blanner with this Mother’s Day project last week.  Julie had cut a few extra blooms for me to take home, and asked me if I had a bud vase at home.  My mind was like an 8mm film projector, slowly but surely (and fuzzily) scrolling through all the vases and glass containers I could use.  Stop film here:

The local grocery store was practically giving away these dozen red roses, and because I had no other flowers or greenery, a bud vase it was!  I took a Martinelli apple juice glass full of seven roses to a friend whose father-in-law had just passed away.  The other five I got to enjoy for myself!

I love these little glass Martinelli apple juice jars ($5 for four bottles.)  They were a compromise on a spur-of-the-moment trip to the grocery store; my five year-old wanted juice and if I was going to spend money on sugary juice, I decided I should be able to buy juice in a re-usable and fun container.
