The jumpsuit has been around for a season or two; is it a fad, a trend or a timeless classic? Like all wardrobe staples, it depends on the cut. A flowy, wide leg jumpsuit in black (under $25!!)? Classic. Timeless. Wear it. Or don’t.
The trend to avoid is the cinched waist, relaxed through the hip and thigh (read: butt) with a tapered leg. Unless you are over 5 feet 9 inches, have a 24 inch waist and 32 inch hips, that cut will emphasize your waist (yay!) but that tiny little waist with the relaxed fit seat will only make your hips and butt look wider, longer and any other descriptive word you wouldn’t want to use for your rear-end. Don’t forget, when it comes time to use the ladies’ room, wearing a jumpsuit might make you think twice about your actual need to use it or whether or not you will ever actually wear a jumpsuit again. If you decide to brave it, do it in the wide leg version, in a solid color (that tacky print isn’t going to help you out, trust me) or a bright color.
